Director Jung Woo-sung's 'Protector' to Release on August 15
Actor Jung Woo-sung's directorial debut film, "Protector," is set to be released on August 15, Ace Maker Movie Works, the distributor, announced on the 6th.
"Protector" is an action film depicting the story between Su-hyeok, who is released after 10 years and learns about the existence of a daughter he never knew, wanting to live an ordinary life, and those who are targeting him. The film stars actors Kim Nam-gil, Park Sung-woong, and Kim Jun-han.
Director Jung Woo-sung's first feature film "Protector" was invited to the Toronto International Film Festival, Sitges Fantastic Film Festival, and Hawaii Film Festival, gaining attention overseas. Local audiences praised it for action that reveals the characters' emotions, impressive cinematography, and outstanding performances by the actors.

Jung Woo-sung also starred as the lead actor. He played Su-hyeok, who, after serving 10 years in prison, learns about his unknown daughter and wishes to live a normal life. Kim Nam-gil portrayed Woo-jin, a fixer with a 100% success rate who handles any situation, and Park Sung-woong took on the role of Eung-guk, the boss of the organization Su-hyeok belonged to. Additionally, Kim Jun-han played Seong-jun, the second-in-command of the organization who suffers from inferiority complex.
