Eungam-dong Eunpyeong Culture and Arts Information School Expansion... Increasing Practice Rooms and Cafeteria
Eunpyeong Cultural Arts Information School in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, will be expanded to secure additional practice rooms and a cafeteria.
On the 5th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government held an urban planning committee meeting and conditionally approved a plan to change the urban planning facility in the area of 334-12 Eungam-dong from an elementary school to a miscellaneous school, the city announced on the 6th.
Eunpyeong Cultural Arts Information School was established in 2013 on the site where Yeonun Elementary School relocated due to the Eungam 7 Redevelopment Maintenance District, and operates with approval from the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education.
The school specializes in vocational education aimed at students who wish to gain employment immediately after graduation. However, among the seven departments currently in operation, three departments?Architecture Interior Design, Hotel Culinary Arts, and Beauty Arts?have faced difficulties due to a lack of practice spaces and insufficient rest areas (such as cafeterias) for existing students, resulting in a poor educational environment and operational challenges for the school.
With this decision, the site will be changed from an elementary school to a miscellaneous school, allowing for the expansion of the school building to secure additional practice rooms and a cafeteria for students. The Seoul Metropolitan Government stated, "Not only will students be able to conveniently use rest areas, but they will also be able to fully concentrate on vocational education, which is expected to greatly improve the educational environment."

The expansion project of Eunpyeong Cultural Arts Information School is planned to be promoted by the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, with an architectural design competition scheduled for 2024, construction starting in 2025, and completion targeted for 2026.
