Hana Tour "Over 95,000 Package Tour Customers in June... 661% Increase YoY"
Overseas Travel Demand Increases Even in Off-Season Q2
Popular Destinations Include Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and China
Hana Tour announced on the 4th that the number of package tour customers sent last month reached approximately 95,000, marking a 661% increase compared to the same period last year.
Although the second quarter has traditionally been the off-season for the travel industry every year, the number of package tour customers in May and June this year increased by 9% and 3% respectively compared to the previous month, highlighting the steady recovery trend in travel.
By region, Southeast Asia accounted for the largest share at 45.1%, followed by Japan (28.8%), Europe (12.6%), China (8.1%), the South Pacific (3.2%), and the Americas (2.2%). By country, Japan ranked first, Vietnam second, and China third. Among the top ranks for the first time since COVID-19, Baekdusan (31%) and Zhangjiajie (23%) gained popularity in China.
Looking at the average reservation status for July and August, the regional shares were similar to June, with Southeast Asia, Japan, Europe, and China in order. However, reservations for Mongolia (up 47%), Northern Europe (up 42%), and Hokkaido (up 41%) noticeably increased compared to June. Relatively cool travel destinations are attracting attention as a way to escape the summer heat.

A Hana Tour official stated, "The increase in travel demand even in the traditionally off-season second quarter shows that travel demand has entered a full recovery phase," adding, "China is also regaining vitality due to smoother group visa issuance, and we expect that this summer will mark a step closer to the normalization of overseas travel demand."
