Coupang Eats Service Provides Bottled Water to Delivery Partners Amid Heatwave
Starting July, Weekly Bottled Water Exchange Vouchers Will Be Provided
Coupang Eats Service announced on the 4th that it will provide bottled water coupons to delivery partners facing the heatwave.
As part of a summer safety campaign in collaboration with the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Coupang Eats Service will provide delivery partners with bottled water exchange vouchers once a week starting in July. Depending on weather conditions such as heatwaves, the amount of bottled water provided will be increased for additional support. Delivery partners who have consistently completed 10 or more deliveries per week, regardless of their mode of transportation, will receive bottled water exchange vouchers via text message.
Coupang Eats Service is also making continuous efforts to establish a safe delivery culture. Recently, due to frequent rain during the monsoon season which increases the risk of accidents in summer, they implemented a safe driving campaign with the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The campaign includes practical safety measures such as reducing speed, maintaining safe distances, checking road conditions, and cautioning against falls while walking. To raise awareness of safety rules among delivery partners, they held a quiz-style event and provided protective gear that can be practically helpful to delivery partners, such as premium raincoats and water-repellent coatings, through a lottery. Last year, following the free provision of KC-certified helmets to 8,000 delivery partners nationwide, they also supported delivery partners with 2,000 sets of helmets, knee pads, and elbow pads in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
