Youth Cheongnyeon Plan Launch Commemorative Advertisement
LG Uplus announced on the 4th that it has launched a video advertisement utilizing generative AI.
LG Uplus planned the advertisement to commemorate the launch of the Uth youth plan. The advertisement is characterized by the use of various AI technologies in everything from the scenario, images, video, to voice. It is the first in the industry to produce an advertisement using AI-generated sources.

View original imageThe advertisement features 20-year-old actress Joo Hyun-young playing a marketer dreaming of leaving work early, entrusting AI with the advertisement production. In particular, LG Uplus utilized the 'ixi' technology owned by its dedicated AI team to create the necessary sources for advertisement production such as scenarios, images, voice, and video. Various ideas were turned into advertisement text scenarios by generative AI, and scene-by-scene images and videos were generated and edited using visual AI.
About 300 sources generated by AI were used in this advertisement production. Using voice AI, the narration by a voice actor with an appropriate tone was inserted after multiple rounds of review.

LG Uplus explained, "Thanks to generative AI in the process of making this advertisement, production costs were reduced by 25% compared to typical advertisement production costs, and the production period was shortened to one-third."
