"To Prevent Infection, Refrain from Visiting Patients"... Campaign to Improve Patient Visit Culture
The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation will hold a ‘Hospital Visit Culture Improvement Campaign’ on the 30th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul to ensure patient safety and speedy recovery.
This nationwide campaign was organized with the intention of refraining from unnecessary hospital visits to prevent infections, especially as COVID-19 quarantine measures have shifted.
The campaign held on this day will consist of a proclamation ceremony and interactive promotional booths.
The proclamation ceremony will be conducted in a ceremonial format with representatives from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Korean Hospital Association, the Korea Patient Organization Federation, and the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation gathering to announce the start of the campaign and convey practical guidelines to the public.
At the promotional booths, various events such as true-or-false quizzes, campaign video screenings, photo zones, and souvenir giveaways will be available.
The Ministry plans to broadcast promotional videos containing guidelines for improving hospital visit culture on the electronic scoreboard during the baseball game to raise awareness of the campaign’s importance among spectators.
Park Min-su, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, said, “Just as the level of compliance with quarantine rules shown by our people during the process of overcoming COVID-19 was highly praised worldwide, we ask for the continued interest and practice of the public so that a proper hospital visit culture can be well established in the future.”
Im Young-jin, President of the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation, said, “We hope that through this campaign, the hospital visit culture in our society will mature further, allowing medical staff to focus on treatment and reducing the risk of infection between patients and visitors, thereby creating a safe medical environment for patients.”
