Lee Jae-myung: "One Word from the President Turns Education Sites into a Mess... Confusion Intensifies"
"Measures for Economic Recovery
Supplementary Budget for Protecting Vulnerable Groups and Revitalizing the Livelihood Economy"
Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized on the 28th the controversy over the exclusion of killer questions (ultra-difficult problems) from the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), saying, "The confusion in the education field, which has been devastated by a single word from the president, is worsening."
On the same day, Lee said at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in the morning, "The intimidation politics to cover up hasty administration is no exception this time either. The presidential office is stepping in, talking about an 'interest cartel' and even mentioning 'judicial measures.'"
He emphasized, "The government should not incite further confusion and anxiety," and urged, "Do not cause confusion in the education field with patchwork or impulsive measures."

Lee has been emphasizing the necessity of a supplementary budget worth 35 trillion won for economic recovery day after day.
Referring to the incident involving a mother and son in their 80s and 50s that occurred in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province the previous day, Lee criticized, "It is a tragic reality of 21st-century Korea that people are risking their lives due to financial hardship."
He pointed out, "The relative poverty rate of retired people aged 66 and over in Korea is said to be the highest among OECD countries. Four out of ten people do not even reach 50% of the median income," adding, "The debt of self-employed individuals is 1,044 trillion won, the highest ever, and the delinquency rate is the highest in eight years. The food price inflation rate in the first quarter is a staggering three times the income growth rate of all households."
