A, who identified themselves as the parent of the fifth-grade student, said, "My healthy son collapsed after receiving a blow to the head during one-on-one training with the judo head instructor last April and has not yet returned home."
According to A, their son B collapsed suddenly while walking toward the instructor after a one-on-one personal practice session on the day of the accident and was transported to the emergency room.
B, who showed seizure symptoms without consciousness, was moved to the intensive care unit and was diagnosed with "acute traumatic brain hemorrhage," a brain hemorrhage caused by external trauma, according to the test results.
A added that although their son barely woke up after a year, he is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at a large hospital in Seoul and is still in a condition that makes normal life difficult.
They explained, "His cognitive ability is assessed to be below that of a five-year-old, and he cannot do anything on his own."
They also said he was diagnosed with brain lesions and intellectual disability and is currently undergoing an evaluation for visual impairment.

A said, "When he was first taken to the emergency room, the judo instructor tearfully said over the phone that it was all his fault and that he would take full responsibility until my son could receive treatment and return to normal life, but now he denies any fault and is ignoring us."
They added, "After reporting to the police, the detective in charge told me that the instructor is trying to evade the case."
In March, when A’s side demanded medical expenses from the instructor, the instructor replied, "I need to ask the parents," and then requested that all communications be made through the police, insisting that he was not at fault for the accident.
However, A expressed frustration that there is no CCTV footage inside the academy from the time of the incident, and that other students and staff who worked there have quit, making it impossible to find evidence or witnesses.
Regarding the delay in reporting the incident, A added, "The instructor asked us to delay or withhold the police report due to concerns about the operation and image of the judo academy."
A said, "The judo academy changed its name after the accident and is still operating," expressing, "Our family is living in pain, and it is heartbreaking."

They appealed, saying, "Serious injuries can happen during exercise, but a brain hemorrhage crosses the line. As the person responsible for safety and the instructor, we have no idea what kind of training was conducted or how safety was managed. Currently, the prosecution has suspended the indictment following an investigation. We don’t know why, and it is very unfair."
