Jeonju City Successfully Concludes the Passionate '2023 Jeonju Dano' Festival
Jeonju Dano Symposium Held... Efforts for Sustainable Development
Jeonbuk Province and Jeonju City announced on the 26th that the vibrant and enriched ‘2023 Jeonju Dano Festival’ was successfully concluded with enthusiastic responses from citizens over three days from the 22nd to the 24th at Deokjin Park.
Starting with a street parade to raise the excitement of the citizens, a bountiful harvest ritual was held to pray for the well-being of the citizens and a good harvest. Citizens filled the entrance of Deokjin Park with wish papers inscribed with their hopes. The Jeonbuk Intangible Cultural Heritage performances and the Ongoeul Culture and Arts Festival of the Dano celebration energized the event atmosphere with warm cheers and applause from the citizens.

The traditional play experience area was filled with citizens enjoying activities such as making traditional patterned towels, jangmyeongnu bracelets, tightrope walking, swing jumping, and scholar games. The Taegeuk Dano fan, provided upon completing the Dano stamp experience tour, also received a great response. Additionally, activities such as pounding rice cakes and sharing them, washing hair with iris, iris foot baths, and iris tea ceremonies attracted crowds of citizens and tourists, gaining popularity.
Meanwhile, a symposium themed on Dano was held during the event to ensure the continuous development of Jeonju Dano in the future. The symposium featured expert presentations and discussions on revitalization plans, demonstrating ongoing efforts for the advancement of Jeonju Dano.
