Gunsan National University Holds 2023 Student Overseas Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony
11 Nights and 12 Days of Volunteer Activities in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and Other Locations
Gunsan University (President Jangho Lee) announced on the 23rd that it held the 15th Student Overseas Volunteer Corps Launch Ceremony for the 2023 academic year on the 22nd in the large conference room on the 4th floor of the university headquarters.
The launch ceremony was conducted as a time to monitor the various programs prepared by the students for volunteer activities and to strengthen their determination.
The Gunsan University Student Overseas Volunteer Corps plans to carry out overseas volunteer activities in Ulaanbaatar, Tariat, Arkhangai, and other areas of Mongolia for 11 nights and 12 days from the 26th to July 7th.

Thirty overseas volunteer members selected to cultivate the spirit of volunteerism and foster global talents will visit Mongolia. On-site volunteer work includes painting and renovation of educational facilities, while educational volunteer activities include arts and physical education, Korean language education, health education, and various other volunteer services.
The launch ceremony was attended by President Jangho Lee, key officials, Um Ki-wook (Professor of Social Welfare), the head of the Student Overseas Volunteer Corps, and 30 volunteer members.
The ceremony began with the oath-taking by student representatives Byungjun Kim and Seunghee Sun, followed by congratulatory remarks from President Jangho Lee, team performance program demonstrations, and pre-departure instructions and training.
In particular, the team performance programs featured Taekwondo, traditional cultural fairy tale plays, KPOP performances, and Samulnori, which the volunteer members practiced for two and a half months from April to June after being selected.
