Gwangyang Economic Authority Discusses Plans to Expand Investment and Exports
Gang Jang-jin, Director of the Economic Free Zone Planning Division at the Ministry of Industry, Visits Gwangyang Economic Free Zone Authority
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Song Sang-rak, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced on the 22nd that Commissioner Song Sang-rak and Kang Jang-jin, Director of the Free Economic Zone Planning Division at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, held a meeting to revitalize the Gwangyang Bay Area.
During the meeting, in-depth discussions were held on activating investment in the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone, supporting exports for resident companies, and resolving difficulties faced by these companies.

View original imageAt the meeting, Commissioner Song Sang-rak of the Gwangyang Economic Authority stated, “The Gwangyang Economic Authority is focusing its capabilities on attracting new growth industries such as secondary batteries and hydrogen, which will drive new growth,” and added, “Active government support is necessary for the Gwangyang Bay Area to emerge as a strategic hub for these national strategic industries.”
Director Kang Jang-jin said, “The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy is also actively promoting the strengthening of support systems for companies in the Free Economic Zone and the advancement of core strategic industries,” and promised, “We will maintain close cooperation with the Gwangyang Economic Authority and continue to collaborate on major issues.”
Afterwards, Director Kang Jang-jin visited the secondary battery anchor company POSCO Philbar Lithium Solution Co., Ltd. and packaging export company Seungsan Pack Co., Ltd. to gather on-site opinions regarding investment and exports in the Free Economic Zone.
