Yoon Arrives in Vietnam for 'State Visit'... Begins Economic and Diplomatic Schedule

President Yoon Suk-yeol, who visited France to bid for the 2030 World Expo, made a state visit to Vietnam, a key Southeast Asian partner, on the 22nd (local time).

President Yoon and his wife, Kim Keon-hee, arrived at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi around 10 a.m. on the same day aboard Air Force One, the presidential aircraft.

President Yoon wore a navy suit with a purple tie, while Kim Keon-hee wore an ivory suit with a white blouse and an ivory skirt, carrying a blue handbag.

At the airport, Ambassador Oh Young-joo to Vietnam, Jang Eun-sook, president of the Hanoi Korean Association, Hong Seon, president of the Vietnam Korean Business Association, Kim Tae-jin, protocol chief of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and other protocol officials welcomed the presidential couple. On the Vietnamese side, Chief of Staff to President Hai, Chairman Thang of the Hanoi People's Committee, Ambassador Thuong to South Korea, Director Le of the President's Office for Foreign Affairs, and Director Bing of the Northeast Asia Department came out to greet them.

During his visit to Vietnam, President Yoon will hold a summit with State President Vo Van Thuong and have individual meetings with the top four power figures: Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party; Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister; and Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of the National Assembly.

He will also engage in economic and cultural events such as visiting Korean language education institutions, a K-industry showcase, trade consultations, a K-food expo, a Korea-Vietnam cultural exchange night, and a dinner meeting with accompanying businesspeople.
