Tesla NACS Coupler to Be Applied Within the Year
SK Signet, the No. 1 player in the U.S. electric vehicle ultra-fast charging market, will participate in 'Move London 2023' held in London, UK, on the 21st and 22nd (local time). SK Signet, which established its European branch last December and secured its first contract, plans to focus on acquiring new customers at this event.
Move 2023 (MOVE 2023) is an integrated event created in 2019 by UK-based international event planning company Terafinn under the theme of 'Building a Sustainable Mobility Ecosystem.' It is held across continents including Europe, Asia, and the United States. Experts in electric vehicles, smart cities, freight transport, and mobility gather at this event. Participants can attend lectures and discussions and engage in various programs such as networking.
This year's 'Move London 2023' will host over 6,000 attendees and more than 700 speakers, including various automaker brands and electric vehicle charger manufacturers, making it the largest event to date. It is also the first exhibition SK Signet is participating in within Europe.

SK Signet will showcase its 400 kW-class ultra-fast charger V2 product, first unveiled at the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition 'CES 2023' in January this year. At the plant completion ceremony in Texas, USA, on the 5th (local time), the V2 charger demonstrated charging a Kia EV6 with an 800V battery from 20% to 80% in just 14 minutes and 44 seconds, receiving great acclaim on-site.
The V2 product can charge two vehicles simultaneously with a single charger (dispenser) and can output up to 400 kW from a single port. As a 400 kW ultra-fast charger, it can fully charge an 800V battery vehicle up to 80% within 15 minutes, making it the fastest electric vehicle charger in the world.
The V2 product supports not only the existing CCS and CHAdeMO couplers but also Tesla's NACS coupler, enabling fast charging for all electric vehicles regardless of model. Full-scale mass production is scheduled to begin next month at SK Signet's Gwangyang plant in Korea and Texas plant in the USA, allowing quick response to customer purchase requests.
Shin Jeong-ho, CEO of SK Signet, said, “As the number of electric vehicle users increases worldwide, customer demands for charging experience will rise. We will strive to provide easy and fast charging experiences to all electric vehicle users globally, regardless of which electric vehicle they choose.”

SK Signet will also exhibit a prototype model of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), which supplies power in the megawatt (MW) range. Megawatt chargers supply over 1,000 kW of power, making them suitable for charging commercial heavy-duty vehicles such as trucks and buses equipped with large-capacity batteries. The MCS market is expected to reach approximately $4.2 billion (about 5.4 trillion KRW) by 2027, growing at an average annual rate of 29%.
