Ministry of Education Holds Social Policy Forum for Data-Driven Policy Development
The Ministry of Education, together with research institutions in the social policy cooperation network such as the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education and Training, will hold the "1st Social Policy Public Forum" on the 22nd at the Sejong National Research Complex under the theme "Analysis and Implications of Administrative Data Linkage and Utilization Cases."
This year's Social Policy Public Forum will focus on discussing ways to activate data-driven social policies, reflecting the importance of data in the era of digital transformation, and will be held in a total of four sessions.
At this forum, outstanding domestic and international leading cases related to data linkage and utilization will be examined, and policy implications will be derived.
In the first presentation, Professor Taehoon Lim of Korea University will analyze cases of public data utilization and discuss implications for data opening, quality improvement, and the establishment of management systems (governance).
Following this, Eunhee Han, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Social Security Information Service, will present policy alternatives to activate administrative data linkage and utilization based on an analysis of the current status of administrative data use for evidence-based policy making.
After the presentations, Mi-ae Oh, Director of the Information and Statistics Research Center at the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs, Deok-yeon Hwang, Associate Research Fellow at the Korea Institute of Public Administration, Sang-young Park, Manager at Statistics Korea, and Young-yeon Kang, reporter at The Korea Economic Daily, will participate in the discussion.
The forum can be viewed on the Ministry of Education's YouTube channel and other online platforms, and the presentation materials will be uploaded to the Social Policy website (www.socialpolicy.go.kr) after the event.
