"Will Get You a Pilot Job"... Employment Broker Who Received 600 Million Won Arrested and Indicted
The prosecution has arrested and indicted an employment broker who received over 600 million won from job seekers by promising to secure employment as pilots at private airlines through public officials.
On the 20th, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Joon-dong) announced that it had arrested and indicted Mr. A (51), an employment broker, on charges of bribery under the Special Act and violation of the Labor Standards Act the previous day. Mr. A is the CEO of a company related to aviation fuel sales and pilot training.
According to the prosecution, from March 2016 to March 2018, Mr. A is accused of receiving a total of approximately 624.25 million won in money and valuables from seven job seekers under the pretext of requesting employment as pilots at airlines through public officials who had influence over the airlines. Among the seven job seekers who gave money and valuables to Mr. A, six were employed as pilots at private airlines.
Earlier, the prosecution launched a full-scale investigation starting in January, including searches of the suspect's residence and questioning of those who made the requests. They also identified the employment requesters through account tracking and mobile phone searches. The prosecution requested an arrest warrant for Mr. A, which was issued on the 5th.

The prosecution stated, "We will continue to investigate the specific hiring procedures and whether there were additional crimes during the hiring process, and we plan to thoroughly recover the criminal proceeds obtained by the defendant."
