Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station announced on the 19th that it has distributed vehicle fire extinguishers and promotional stickers to 462 corporate taxis in the area for rapid fire response.
Under the supervision of the Gwangju Fire Safety Headquarters, applications were accepted from February to March, and support targets were selected through priority review of aging vehicles, electric vehicles, elderly, disabled, and female drivers.
According to the selection results, Gwangsan Fire Station distributed one vehicle fire extinguisher and two promotional stickers per vehicle to 23 registered corporate taxi companies (462 vehicles) in the area.
According to the Act on Installation and Management of Firefighting Facilities, from December 1 next year, the mandatory installation of vehicle fire extinguishers will be expanded from vehicles with seven or more seats to passenger cars with five or more seats.
From the effective date, vehicles manufactured, assembled, imported, or sold, as well as vehicles with ownership changes, must have a fire extinguisher.
