Chungnam Province Conducts On-Site Inspections of Local Coastal Port Facilities Including Daecheon and Maryangjin Ports
Chungnam Province announced on the 19th that it will conduct a joint inspection of the "Operation and Management Status of Facilities at Locally Managed Coastal Ports" with Boryeong City and Seocheon County from the 26th to the 30th of this month.
The inspection will cover 12 facilities at Daecheon Port and 6 facilities at Maryangjin Port, which are locally managed coastal ports within the jurisdiction. The main inspection items include acts of failing to report the use of port facilities to the province, unauthorized entry into restricted areas without permission, installation of illegal facilities, unauthorized storage of materials, and abandoned vessels.
Chungnam Province stated that any violations found during the inspection will be immediately subject to administrative measures, and owners will be guided to voluntarily handle illegal facilities, unauthorized stored materials, and abandoned vessels through warning notices.

A provincial official said, "Even after the joint inspection, we will continuously monitor the handling of illegal activities by conducting regular enforcement activities with cities and counties," and added, "To ensure efficient operation and management of locally managed coastal ports, we will also collect opinions from cities and counties and promote maintenance and the installation of convenience facilities."
