LG CNS is strengthening its social contribution program, ‘AI Genius’.

On the 14th, LG CNS visited Ganggu Middle School located in Yeongdeok, Gyeongbuk, to conduct the AI Genius program. About 60 students from Ganggu Middle School and Byeonggok Middle School participated in the program together. During the 6-hour regular class, students learned about new DX (digital transformation) technologies such as ▲AI logistics robots ▲AI chatbots ▲MyData, and applied this knowledge to create their own services.

LG CNS is continuously expanding AI Genius to rural areas, remote islands, and special schools. In March, the program was held at Gyeonghui School in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, and in May, at Yesan Kkumbit School in Yesan County, Chungnam, both special schools. The AI Genius classes at special schools consist of ▲AI overview education in metaverse virtual spaces ▲art activities using AI (drawing, music) ▲AI autonomous vehicle creation, among others.

LG CNS started AI Genius in 2017 to nurture more future DX talents. From the following year, the program expanded beyond Seoul to middle schools in rural and remote areas such as ▲Gimje, Jeonbuk ▲Eumseong, Chungbuk ▲Wando, Jeonnam ▲Yeongcheon, Gyeongbuk ▲Yeongwol, Gangwon. Since 2021, LG CNS has been visiting special schools to allow disabled youth to experience AI. To date, LG CNS has provided IT education to about 230 schools and over 18,000 students.

LG CNS also operates the ‘AI Genius Academy.’ The AI Genius Academy is designed for high school students and is an advanced program of AI Genius. It offers one year of education in AI, big data, coding, and career planning. Any high school student interested in AI nationwide can apply and participate as a school unit.

Recently, as part of the AI Genius Academy, LG CNS held ‘AI Day.’ About 80 students were invited to LG CNS’s Magok headquarters from among approximately 480 students participating in the AI Genius Academy. They received offline education on AI-based image data learning and classification.

Recognizing these DX capability-based social contribution activities, LG CNS received the Prime Minister’s Commendation at the ‘2023 Information Culture Development Merit Government Awards’ on the 15th. The Ministry of Science and ICT selected and awarded individuals and organizations that contributed to nurturing future software talents and bridging regional digital information gaps in celebration of the 36th Information Culture Month.

An LG CNS official emphasized, “We will continue to strengthen DX-based social contribution activities so that more youth from diverse regions can nurture their dreams of becoming future DX experts.”
