Professor Kim Hong-gi of Hannam University Elected as Next President of the Korean Economic Association
Professor Kim Hong-gi of the Department of Economics at Hannam University was elected as the 54th president of the Korean Economic Association for 2024.
The Korean Economic Association announced that Professor Kim was finally elected at the vote-counting board meeting held on the 13th, following an election process from the 15th of last month to the 9th of this month.
Professor Kim graduated from the Department of Trade at Seoul National University and earned his master's and doctoral degrees in economics from the same university's graduate school. He has served as the Chairman of the Bond Financial Institution Adjustment Committee and President of the Korean International Economic Association. In March, he was recognized for his contributions as the Chairman of the Regulatory Reform Committee of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and received the Geunjeong Medal.

The Economic Association stated, "Professor Kim is serving as the Senior Vice President of the Economic Association this year and is scheduled to assume the presidency at the regular general meeting to be held in February next year."
