Kim Dong-yeon, Meeting with Provincial Assembly Culture and Tourism Committee on 12th: "Providing Opportunity Income to Artists"

On the 12th, Governor Kim held a meeting with 14 members of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council at Dodamso in Paldal-gu, Suwon City (the former Gyeonggi Governor's official residence).
At the meeting, Governor Kim said, "Culture, arts, and sports are fields I am personally very interested in," adding, "Regarding culture and arts, I understand that the 'Opportunity Income for Artists' is currently under review to provide various recognitions and support for the social value of our artists. I ask for your kind cooperation."
The meeting was arranged as an opportunity for communication between Gyeonggi Province and the standing committees of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council. On the 13th, there will be a luncheon meeting with members of the Urban Environment Committee.
Previously, Governor Kim met with members of the Planning and Finance Committee on March 14 and the Safety and Administration Committee on April 26.
The 'Opportunity Income for Artists' program provides an annual payment of 1.5 million KRW to artists residing in the province who hold a valid certificate of artistic activity and whose personal income is below 120% of the median income.
Gyeonggi Province completed consultations with the Ministry of Health and Welfare on March 27 regarding the establishment of the social security system, and on April 26, announced the legislative notice for the 'Gyeonggi Province Opportunity Income for Artists Payment Ordinance (Draft).'

Gyeonggi Province plans to accept applications and proceed with the first payment between July and August once the ordinance (draft) is passed by the Gyeonggi Provincial Council in June.
