Starring actor Ma Dong-seok, 'The Outlaws 3' maintained its position at the top of the box office by attracting 1.32 million viewers during its second weekend after release.
According to the Korea Film Council's integrated ticketing system on the 12th, 'The Outlaws 3' (directed by Lee Sang-yong) drew 1,323,108 viewers over the three-day weekend (9th-11th), securing the number one spot at the box office. Since its release on the 31st of last month, the cumulative audience has reached 7,782,862, with a revenue share of 72.1%.
The film depicts detective Ma Seok-do (Ma Dong-seok) moving to the Seoul Metropolitan Investigation Unit and launching a crime eradication operation to catch Ju Seong-cheol (Lee Jun-hyuk), the mastermind behind a new type of drug crime, and another villain involved in the drug case, Ricky (Aoki Munetaka).
The movie attracted 1 million viewers on its first day, 2 million by the third day, 3 million by the fourth day, 5 million by the sixth day, and 6 million by the seventh day. On the 11th day, it surpassed 7 million viewers, signaling a promising milestone for the series to reach 20 million viewers.
The Hollywood film 'Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,' released on the 6th, attracted 285,583 viewers, ranking second, while the animation 'Pok?mon DP: Arceus and the Jewel of Life' drew 62,017 viewers, placing third.
Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3' added 42,832 viewers to rank fourth, and 'The Little Mermaid' attracted about 23,000 viewers, securing fifth place.
Rankings for sixth to eighth place were 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die,' 'Super Mario Brothers,' and '10 Years Left in Life,' respectively.
