"All High School Students Writing Web Novels Nationwide, Gather!" ... Daegu Suseong University Hosts Contest
Daegu Suseong University (President Kim Seon-sun) is hosting the "2nd National High School Student Web Novel Contest" to nurture young talent in the web novel field.
Held in collaboration with web novel specialist companies "Storytunes" and "J Tree Media," this contest accepts submissions in any genre, including fantasy, romance, romance fantasy, and martial arts, from June 16 to July 19.
Any currently enrolled high school student nationwide can participate. Students wishing to enter the contest must submit a synopsis (overall storyline) and an application form according to the provided format, along with the manuscript (at least 5,000 characters per episode).
Submissions should be sent via email to the Webtoon Story Department at Suseong University, with the subject line marked "Web Novel Submission." The winners will be announced on August 5 through the university's website.
The grand prize winner will receive a scholarship of 2 million KRW and the President's Award from Suseong University. One Excellence Award winner will receive a scholarship of 1 million KRW and a certificate, two Merit Award winners will receive 500,000 KRW and certificates, and two Encouragement Award winners will receive a scholarship of 250,000 KRW and certificates.
Suseong University plans to give additional points during interviews to awardees who wish to enroll in the Webtoon Story Department. Award-winning students may also sign author contracts with Storytunes and J Tree Media through separate agreements.

Hong Woo-jin, head of the Webtoon Story Department at Suseong University, explained, "As the web novel market is rapidly growing, the number of students aspiring to enter this field is also increasing significantly. We organized this contest to discover talented students and provide a foundation for them to grow into web novel writers."
