Welfare Vice Minister Meets Regional Emergency Medical Center Director to Discuss 'Measures to Prevent Emergency Room Admission Refusals'
Park Minsu, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, met with the heads of 44 regional emergency medical centers nationwide and the board members of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine at the LW Convention in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the afternoon of the 8th to listen to voices from the emergency medical field.

This meeting was arranged to hear the opinions of the heads of regional emergency medical centers regarding the measures to prevent emergency room admission refusals announced by the government and the ruling party through a party-government consultation on the 31st of last month.
Regional emergency medical centers are the core institutions of South Korea's emergency medical system, responsible for treating severe emergency patients, serving as disaster base hospitals, and providing education and training to emergency medical personnel within their regions.
Vice Minister Park listened to opinions on the party-government consultation contents as well as additional implementable tasks, and focused discussions on effective measures to improve the transfer system, alleviate emergency room overcrowding, and secure final treatment resources.

Vice Minister Park said, "We deeply regret the repeated tragic incidents where patients die because they could not reach an appropriate emergency room in time, and the government is determined to resolve the issue of emergency room admission refusals to protect the lives of the people."
