Chungnam Province to Digitize Important Paper Records This Year
Chungnam Province will promote the digitization of important paper records this year.
On the 8th, Chungnam Province announced that it will implement the "2023 Important Paper Records Database (DB) Construction Project," which digitizes 6,000 administrative documents with a preservation period of over 30 years, written before 2008, that have high preservation value.
This project, with a total budget of 420 million KRW, was planned to digitize paper records to prevent the loss and damage of important provincial records and to establish a dual preservation system.
Since 2007, Chungnam Province has been conducting related projects and has digitized a total of 123,099 volumes to date, building a system that enhances accessibility for employees.

Jung Han-yul, Director of the Office of Autonomy and Safety of Chungnam Province, said, "The digital conversion project of important paper records will help ensure the safe preservation of records and provide convenience in their use," adding, "We will continue to digitize paper records to expand record information services."
