Gwangyang Economic Free Zone Authority Launches Support for Farm Labor During Growing Season
The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Director Song Sang-rak, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang Economic Authority) assisted in harvesting and sorting plums at a plum farm in Daap, Gwangyang, which is facing difficulties due to rising labor costs and labor shortages, as the full-scale farming season began on the 7th.
The farm that received help said, "We were very worried about the lack of labor during the busy farming season, but despite the hot weather, the staff helped as if it were their own work, which was a great help," expressing gratitude to the Gwangyang Economic Authority staff.
A representative of the Gwangyang Economic Authority said, "We are glad to have been able to lend a hand to elderly farmers and provide some help," adding, "We will continue to participate in assisting rural labor in our region, share the difficulties of rural areas, and communicate with local residents."
