Namwon-si Participates in UAS EXPO... Promoting Drone Racing Championship

Namwon City, Jeonbuk, participated in the '2023 UAS EXPO (China International Unmanned Aerial Systems Expo)' held from the 2nd to the 4th at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in China.

According to the city on the 7th, this expo, attended by over 250 companies, showcased future industries such as unmanned aerial vehicles used for industrial, patrol, and search purposes, artificial intelligence robots, and autonomous vehicles.

Through attending the expo, the city promoted 'Drone·UAM City Namwon' and simultaneously publicized the '2023 Namwon FAI World Drone Racing Championship' and the '1st International Future Aviation Mobility·Drone Leisure Sports Expo.'

Additionally, the city took the opportunity to understand the latest trends in drones, a future industry for the city, and to consider the direction moving forward, actively promoting participation of many companies in the 'Future Aviation Mobility·Drone Leisure Sports Expo.'

A meeting was also held with Yang Jincai, President of the World Unmanned Aerial Federation, where Namwon City's strong commitment to the development of the drone industry was expressed, and promotion was made to encourage many overseas athletes and companies to participate in the championship and expo.

The city also participated in conferences to explore the latest trends in the drone industry, such as linking drones with AI.

A city official said, "Attending this expo was a great opportunity to introduce Namwon to the international drone market," adding, "We will continue to make efforts so that many people worldwide can participate in the drone racing championship and expo."
