KT Selects 6 Companies for 'Warm Technology Plus Challenge'
Selected 6 Areas in Eco-Friendly and Digital Inclusion
Over 140 Social Economy Companies Applied
Up to 150 Million KRW Support Per Company
Six companies were selected through the ‘2023 KT Warm Technology Plus Challenge.’ This ESG program selects companies that solve social problems and contribute to creating social value, providing support such as project realization funds and technology and management consulting utilizing KT’s future technology assets like AI (artificial intelligence). Up to 150 million KRW is supported.
On the 7th, KT announced that it signed agreements with the selected companies together with the Korea Social Value Solidarity Fund and Impact Square. Over 140 social economy enterprises applied. After three rounds of professional screening, six companies were finally selected: ‘Hanaroop’ and ‘VPP Lab’ in the eco-friendly sector, and ‘Yatab Entertainment,’ ‘The Cheat,’ ‘Moba Wheel,’ and ‘Weplant’ in the digital inclusion sector. The signing ceremony was attended by company representatives, Kim Moosung, Executive Director of KT ESG Management Promotion Office, Song Kyungyong, Chairman of the Korea Social Value Solidarity Fund, the Korea Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, and last year’s KT Warm Technology Plus Challenge graduate companies Language Development Center and Deep Visions.

The selected companies will receive up to 150 million KRW in support and be provided with KT’s tangible and intangible infrastructure (office space at KT Bridge Lab Gwanak Center). Additionally, they will explore business cooperation plans in the digital technology field with KT in 2023. Kim Moosung, Executive Director of KT, said, “Through the KT Warm Technology Plus Challenge, now in its third year, we are discovering and supporting excellent social ventures that aim to solve environmental and social issues using digital technology and solutions as a leading ESG management company. We will strive to establish a growth foundation for social ventures and develop the ecosystem.”
