He exchanged four birdies and four bogeys over 10 holes, struggling to lower his score. At the 11th hole (par 5), despite reaching the green in two shots, he made three putts and settled for par. He earned $980,000 (approximately 1.38 billion KRW) in prize money.
“Taekwondo boy” Viktor Hovland (Norway) lowered his score by two strokes to tie with Danny McCarthy (USA) at 7-under 281, then secured the win with a par on the first playoff hole resumed at the 18th hole. This was his fourth career victory, coming 1 year and 7 months after winning the World Wide Technology Championship in November 2021. The winner’s prize was $3.6 million (approximately 4.7 billion KRW). McCarthy was satisfied with his personal best finish despite making a bogey on the 18th hole while leading by one stroke.
