Democratic Party: "Labor Oppression Countermeasure Organization to Launch Soon... Considering Outdoor Struggle with Two Major Labor Unions"
The Democratic Party of Korea announced on the 4th that it will soon launch a task force to counter labor oppression, highlighting an incident four days ago in which a Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU) official was injured during police suppression.
On the same day, Jin Seong-jun, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, held a press conference at the National Assembly titled "Condemning Inhumane Labor Oppression" and stated, "I have proposed to the party leadership the necessity of forming a task force to respond to this government's labor oppression." He added, "It is necessary to hold a joint hearing rather than a routine briefing in the relevant parliamentary standing committees," emphasizing, "Measures must be taken to clearly hold accountable the police for their excessive and brutal suppression."
Jin also said, "I understand that the two major trade unions are preparing for a large-scale outdoor protest soon," and added, "It is time for the Democratic Party to actively join and fight together. We plan to respond in close consultation with the leadership."

Seo Young-kyo, a Supreme Council member, criticized, "The Assembly and Demonstration Act stipulates that peaceful assemblies should not be violently suppressed," and said, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration's labor oppression is a violation of the constitution and laws as it suppressed assemblies and demonstrations."
