Samsung D Supplies 'UHD+ OLED' to MSI Premium Laptops
New MSI Premium Gaming Laptop Features Industry-Leading Samsung Display 16-inch UHD+ OLED
Samsung Display is accelerating its penetration into the premium laptop market by supplying the industry's highest resolution UHD+ OLED to the new gaming laptop from global gaming specialist brand MSI.
On the 31st, Samsung Display announced that it will supply the 16-inch UHD+ (3840X2400) OLED, the highest resolution laptop display, to MSI's gaming laptop 'Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport.'
The Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport is a new product developed in collaboration between MSI and Mercedes-Benz's AMG group. It was unveiled on the 30th at 'Computex Taipei 2023' held in Taipei, Taiwan, as part of MSI's premium product lineup. This product targets both the growing OLED laptop and gaming markets simultaneously.

Clark Feng, Vice General Manager of MSI Laptop Product Planning Division, said, "Gaming laptops require high-level display technology that can reproduce powerful operating performance as content. Samsung OLED is the optimal display supporting MSI gaming laptops' powerful performance with overwhelming image quality, thin and light low-power structure."
Jung Yong-wook, Marketing Team Leader (Executive Director) of Samsung Display's Small and Medium-sized Business Division, said, "Through the industry's highest resolution OLED, gamers will experience the best HDR content. We will focus on expanding the IT market with Samsung OLED's strengths such as high color reproduction, overwhelming contrast ratio through true black, low blue light, and low power consumption."
Last month, Samsung Display officially announced its expansion into the future IT market by investing 4.1 trillion KRW to build an 8.6-generation IT OLED line.

Meanwhile, since entering the IT market in 2019, Samsung Display has collaborated with 11 global laptop brands and released more than 100 types of OLED laptops. Currently, Samsung Display's market share in the IT OLED market, including laptops and tablets, was 76.7% last year (based on sales from market research firm Omdia).
