Intruder Breaks into Doctor Strange's Home... Threatens to Kill Entire Family
The assailant identified as a 35-year-old former chef
Police make urgent arrest
Benedict Cumberbatch (47), an actor famous for the movie 'Doctor Strange' and the drama 'Sherlock', received a death threat from an intruder at his home.
On the 29th (Korean time), according to British media Daily Mail and others, an intruder broke into Cumberbatch's house located in North London.
The man, armed with a weapon, kicked the iron gate of Cumberbatch's house and shouted threats, saying, "I know you moved here. I will burn the house down." The man also caused a disturbance by throwing flowerpots in the garden.
The intruder was identified as Jack Bissell (35), who previously worked as a chef at a luxury hotel. He tore off the intercom at the front gate and spat on it. At the time, Cumberbatch, his wife Sophie Hunter, and their three children were at home, and they were reportedly terrified by the intruder's violent behavior.
Jack Bissell fled the scene before the police arrived, but the police tracked and urgently arrested him using DNA collected from the home intercom as evidence. At a trial held earlier this month, he was fined and received a three-year restraining order from the Cumberbatch family.
The motive for the crime has not yet been revealed, but investigations showed that Jack Bissell has a criminal record including theft, public order offenses, and drug-related crimes. Insiders said, "The Cumberbatch couple is worried and sleepless, fearing they might become targets of crime again."
