Dongmyeong University to Volunteer in Uzbekistan Hoping to Host the Busan World Expo
Formation of International Volunteer Teams with 4 Local Universities over 10 Days in July
Diverse Programs Including Taekwondo, K-POP, Hangul Education, and Traditional Cultural Performances
Students from Dongmyung University are engaging in volunteer activities in Uzbekistan. During their service period, the students will also carry out a project to promote the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.
Dongmyung University (President Jeon Ho-hwan) announced on the 30th that 24 enrolled students will travel to Uzbekistan for ten days in July to introduce traditional cultural performances and Korean culture through Hangul education, Taekwondo (poomsae, breaking, Taekwon-mu) demonstrations, and K-POP, all while expressing their hopes for the successful bid of the 2030 Busan World Expo.
They will form an international volunteer group with students from three universities in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (National University of Technology, Dongbang University, World Language University) and one university in Samarkand (National University of Foreign Languages, Korean Language Department) to carry out global sharing volunteer activities.
Students of Dongmyung University are conducting an orientation about the program ahead of their overseas volunteer activities.

Earlier, in March, President Jeon Ho-hwan attended and chaired the Korea-Uzbekistan University Presidents Forum at Tashkent University of Economics. He also signed agreements on degree-linked educational programs and mutual academic exchanges with six local universities.
