Taking Charge of Energy Security! ... Korea National Oil Corporation Conducts Safety Inspection at Gokseong Storage Base
Kim Dong-seop, President of Korea National Oil Corporation, conducted an inspection of the operational status of major facilities and held a safety meeting with on-site employees during the '2023 Korea Safety Grand Transition' focused safety inspection period.
Korea National Oil Corporation announced that on the 23rd, President Kim Dong-seop checked the operational status of underground storage caverns and aboveground product oil storage tanks at the Gokseong Oil Stockpile Base and held a safety meeting with on-site employees.
The 'Korea Safety Grand Transition' focused safety inspection is an industrial safety management activity carried out in consideration of the recent industrial situation where new types of disasters are increasing. Its purpose is to strengthen the management responsibility of the state and companies for on-site safety and to create a safe daily life for the public.

View original imageStarting from April 21 at the Pyeongtaek Stockpile Base, the Oil Corporation formed a joint public-private inspection team to detect and address on-site safety hazards in advance. Comprehensive training and campaigns to enhance employees' disaster response capabilities have been sequentially conducted at nine stockpile bases.
The focused safety inspection held at the Gokseong Stockpile Base on this day was a proactive safety inspection of national key infrastructure. Korea National Oil Corporation and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy focused on minimizing damage in the event of an actual disaster.
President Kim Dong-seop, who directly participated in the on-site inspection activities, said, "In the event of a national oil supply crisis, stable oil supply is the corporation's top priority function that must never be interrupted," and added, "As the energy defense department responsible for national energy security, the corporation must actively establish a safety culture in industrial sites."

Korea National Oil Corporation completed the joint public-private focused safety inspections at a total of nine stockpile bases, concluding with the Gokseong Oil Stockpile Base. Any issues identified during the inspections will be addressed promptly to complete the focused safety inspection.
