The Teachers' Mutual Aid Association Holds the '12th Korea Teacher Award' Ceremony
The-K Korea Teachers' Credit Union held the 12th Korea Teacher Award ceremony.
According to the Teachers' Credit Union on the 23rd, the event was held the previous day at The-K Hotel Seoul in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. Now in its 12th year, the Korea Teacher Award is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Teachers' Credit Union. The award was established to recognize educators who have dedicated themselves to educational development, to establish a true teacher award, and to foster a culture of respect for teachers.
On this day, the Grand Prize was awarded to Kang Jeong-mi, the lead teacher at Hadanjung Middle School. Teacher Kang received high praise for developing teaching and learning methods to enhance students' self-directed learning abilities and future core competencies, and for contributing to the strengthening of science education by distributing science lab teaching materials to schools.
A total of 11 recipients, including Teacher Kang, were selected.
The awardees received government orders and medals such as the Order of Merit for National Foundation in Red, Green, and Jade classes, and the Order of Service Merit, along with plaques. As a prize, the grand prize winner received 20 million KRW, and winners in each category received 10 million KRW each.
