Samsung Bioepis Holds Exclusive Symposium at Rheumatology Conference

Samsung Bioepis announced on the 17th that it will hold a Satellite Symposium on the 18th at the '15th World Lupus Congress & 43rd Korean College of Rheumatology Spring Scientific Meeting and 17th International Scientific Symposium' (LUPUS & KCR 2023), hosted by the Korean Lupus Research Society and the Korean College of Rheumatology, held from the 17th to the 20th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

A Satellite Symposium refers to an event hosted by institutions or companies with demands for networking and information sharing, inviting various experts during large-scale academic conferences to share academic knowledge and trends. This symposium is the first academic discussion forum held by Samsung Bioepis at a domestic academic conference, aiming to provide information on the current status and economic efficiency of biosimilars in the field of autoimmune disease treatments to domestic and international rheumatology specialists. Samsung Bioepis currently sells three autoimmune disease treatments with rheumatoid arthritis indications in Korea: 'Etoloce' (generic name Etanercept), 'Remaloce' (Infliximab), and 'Adaloce' (Adalimumab).

The event, conducted through panel discussions in two sessions, will be chaired by Professor Josef Smolen of the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, who is regarded as a world-renowned expert in the field of rheumatology.

A Samsung Bioepis official stated, “Through the Satellite Symposium, which is being introduced for the first time at a domestic academic conference, we aim to raise awareness of the social and economic roles and functions of biosimilars

and create an opportunity to improve positive perceptions centered on patient benefits.”
