Jeonnam Fire Department Hosts 'General Public CPR Competition'
The Top 2 Teams to Represent Jeonnam at Next Month's National Competition
The Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Hong Young-geun) announced on the 14th that it held the '2023 Jeollanam-do General Public Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Competition.'
The competition took place on the 12th at the Jangheung Fire Station auditorium to promote the importance of CPR and the spread of safety culture.
A total of 20 teams participated, with 10 teams in the student and youth division and 10 teams in the university and general division. In the youth and student division, the Angelus 4 Minutes of Miracle (Mokpo) team won the grand prize, and in the university and general division, the Unsu Daetong (Gwangyang) team received the grand prize.
Moving beyond simple CPR evaluation, teams of up to 10 members performed short plays simulating emergency situations as part of their performance.
The two grand prize-winning teams will represent Jeonnam Province at the national general public CPR competition to be held on the 22nd of next month at the Government Sejong Convention Center.

Chief Hong Young-geun said, "I hope this competition serves as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of emergency treatment," and added, "We will continue to strive to improve the CPR skills of Jeonnam residents."
