"Metal Chunk Flies Into Car, Construction Company Denies Responsibility"
Controversy Arises After Han Moon-cheol TV Releases Video
Dongmun Construction "Unrelated to Construction Apartment Site"
The controversy over the truth behind the incident in which a vehicle driving on a road next to an apartment construction site in Paju-si, Gyeonggi Province, had its windshield shattered by a flying metal chunk is heating up. When Han Moon-cheol, a traffic accident specialist lawyer, pointed out that “the source of the metal chunk is likely the construction site next to the road,” the construction company involved, Dongmoon Construction, immediately issued a rebuttal.
On the 9th, Dongmoon Construction released a statement saying, “The video of the accident caused by the metal chunk posted on the YouTube channel ‘Han Moon-cheol TV’ on the 5th is unrelated to our construction site,” and claimed, “The metal ring identified as the cause of the accident is not an item currently used at the apartment construction site.”
Previously, Han Moon-cheol TV covered an incident on the 14th of last month where a metal ring flew into a vehicle passing by the road next to Dongmoon Construction’s new building site in Munsan-eup, Paju-si, shattering the windshield.
Regarding the unclear origin of the metal structure causing difficulties in handling the accident, the informant shared their story, and lawyer Han Moon-cheol stated, “It seems that the metal piece fell from the air, bounced off the ground, and flew into the vehicle,” asserting the construction company’s negligence and responsibility.
He also warned the informant’s concern that “the apartment site denies it is their item,” saying, “I will give about a week more. If the apartment construction site does not acknowledge it by next week, I will disclose the name of the construction company.”
In response, Dongmoon Construction emphasized, “Rusty rings like the one in the video cannot be used at the construction site. Judging by the rust on the ring involved in the accident, it appears to have been left unattended for at least 5 to 6 months,” and stated, “This accident is unrelated to the apartment construction site managed by the contractor.”
They further explained, “The ring that hit the car is 5/16 inch in size, much smaller than those used on tower cranes at the construction site, and its appearance is different from the rings used on mobile cranes.”
