Jipyeong Brewery Hosts Exhibition Featuring French Artist at Yangpyeong Distillery
From the 15th to June 9th
Jipyeong Brewery announced on the 9th that it will hold an exhibition featuring French artists at the Jipyeong Brewery in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, from the 15th of this month until the 9th of next month.
Under the theme "Prendre Corps," the exhibition will showcase works by two French artists, Antoine Janot and Agathe Lefoutre. Inspired by the Jipyeong Brewery, where traces of history and tradition remain intact, the two artists plan to install special sculptural works.
Jipyeong Brewery is one of the oldest breweries in South Korea and is a modern architectural structure featuring characteristics of buildings constructed during the Japanese colonial period, based on traditional Hanok construction methods. With a history spanning over 100 years since 1925, it was designated as Registered Cultural Heritage No. 594 in 2014. This exhibition is also the first time the brewery is being opened to the public following the restoration of the cultural heritage site.
