Professor An Mikyung of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Elected as the 15th President of the Discourse Cognitive Linguistics Society
Hankuk University of Foreign Studies announced on the 3rd that Professor An Mi-kyung of the Institute of Foreign Literature (HK Professor at the Semiosis Research Center) has been elected as the 15th president of the Discourse Cognitive Linguistics Association.
Professor An was elected president at the regular general meeting of the Discourse Cognitive Linguistics Association held at Ewha Womans University on the 22nd of last month, and her term will be two years starting from July this year.
Professor An has published numerous papers in internationally renowned academic journals through continuous research in discourse analysis, grammaticalization, pragmatics, and cognitive linguistics.

The Discourse Cognitive Linguistics Association, established in 1991, is an academic society conducting language research in the fields of discourse and cognition. Its journal, "Discourse and Cognition," was selected as the top journal in linguistics in the academic journal evaluation conducted by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
