Yeosu City Launches Recruitment for 'Yeosu-type Star Companies'
Up to 90 Million KRW Support for 3 Years Including Prototype Production Process Improvement Consulting
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it will recruit 'Yeosu-type Star Companies' by the 4th, which will lead the revitalization of the local economy as representative local companies.
The city plans to discover promising technology small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in Yeosu and provide comprehensive support services to nurture them into 'Star Companies' representing the region.
Eligibility requirements include companies with business locations in Yeosu, operating for more than 3 years, and an average sales revenue of over 2 billion KRW in the past 3 years. Additionally, companies must meet at least one of the following criteria: ▲ R&D investment of 1% or more relative to sales ▲ possession of direct or indirect export sales relative to sales ▲ sales growth rate of 5% or more.
The city plans to select star companies through document review and on-site inspections.
Selected companies will receive support programs worth up to 90 million KRW over 3 years, including prototype production, process improvement consulting, and various marketing programs.
Interested companies must submit their business application by mail to Jeonnam Technopark and simultaneously register on the Jeonnam Technopark data platform.

A city official stated, “We will actively support star companies that will serve as the foundation for revitalizing the local economy,” and added, “We hope for active participation from local SMEs interested in this program.”
