Silla University Designated as Testing Site for Barista and Hand Drip Certification Exams
The Department of Food and Nutrition at Silla University was recently approved as an official testing center for the Korean Culinary Association’s Barista and Hand Drip Level 1 and 2 Certification Exams.
With this designation, anyone in the region wishing to obtain a barista certification can now take the qualification exam at the on-campus practice facility of Silla University.
The Department of Food and Nutrition at Silla University provides theoretical and practical barista certification training to students in the interdisciplinary Cafe Patissier major, and has supported certification acquisition through department clubs and study groups such as "Coffee & Bread" and "Sugar Day."
Additionally, the department has been actively participating in various national projects to establish a system that allows major students to obtain certifications on campus in one go, working hard to secure infrastructure and equipment.
Professor Kim Mihyang of the Department of Food and Nutrition said, “With the designation as an official testing center, students can take the exam comfortably at the familiar on-campus practice facility,” adding, “We will provide multifaceted support through student-tailored extracurricular programs to strengthen students’ core competencies for employment and entrepreneurship.”
The Department of Food and Nutrition plans to collaborate with the Admissions Team to prepare programs such as department experiences and field training, offering high school students opportunities to explore career paths.
