Tae Young-ho "I Won't Beg in Unrelated Places"... Expressing Dissatisfaction with Kim Ki-hyun?
"Last Week's Supreme Council Absence Due to Personal Reasons"
"No Reason for Me Not to Attend"
Taeyoungho, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party who has caused controversy with a series of verbal missteps, is expected to spark further debate with his recent critical remarks about Party Leader Kim Kihyun. On the morning of the 24th, at the Supreme Council meeting, Ta said, "During the last party convention, I started at the bottom with a 3% approval rating in the polls, but I never begged for help from the wrong places."
Given the context, this is interpreted as a veiled criticism of Leader Kim, who reportedly sought help from Pastor Jeon Gwanghoon of Sarang Jeil Church during the March 8 party convention process. Leader Kim’s early support rate in the convention race was also relatively low compared to other candidates.
Ta explained that his absence from the Supreme Council meeting on the 20th was "not due to anyone’s request but for personal reasons," adding, "There is no reason for me not to attend the Supreme Council meetings under the current circumstances."
This is understood to distinguish his case from that of Supreme Council member Kim Jaewon, who has been absent from the Supreme Council for a month and is in self-reflection following a series of gaffes such as stating that the May 18 event should not be included in the constitution.

Ta also addressed his recent controversial remarks, explaining, "The opposition party criticism of 'trash, money corruption, sexual corruption Democratic Party' was a work-related mishap, and my comments on historical issues were made according to my convictions."
Earlier, he posted on Facebook a message criticizing the Democratic Party’s alleged money envelope scandal during their party convention, saying, "Junk (쓰레기) Money (돈) Sex (성) Democratic Party. Indeed JMS Democratic Party," but quickly deleted it. He also sparked controversy by claiming that "the Jeju 4.3 Incident was triggered under the orders of North Korea’s Kim Il-sung" and that "Baekbeom Kim Gu was deceived by Kim Il-sung’s united front strategy."
Ta acknowledged that the JMS remark about the Democratic Party was a staff error and said he would voluntarily request an ethics committee review. However, regarding his other statements, he essentially reaffirmed that he was not wrong.
Meanwhile, in response to interpretations that "Ta was targeting Leader Kim," Kim emphasized again, "I don’t really know what he means, but Pastor Jeon has neither influenced our party convention nor is in a position to do so."
