Sharing the Charming Views of Gwanak-gu from the Sky with Residents
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) has produced open source videos of cherry blossom scenery at local attractions filmed by drone, uploading the first video in the “Gwanak Seen from the Sky” series on the Gwanak-gu Office YouTube channel for anyone to use.
“Gwanak Seen from the Sky” is a content series planned to allow residents to watch, download, keep, or utilize drone-filmed videos of the district’s attractions as needed.
The first released video, “Spring in Gwanak-gu, Cherry Blossoms,” features brightly blooming cherry blossoms and spring scenery at representative spots such as Nakseongdae Park and Byeolbitnaerimcheon, and has attracted significant attention with over 1,500 views within a day of release.
The district boasts many beautiful spring flower paths including Nakseongdae Park, Byeolbitnaerimcheon, Gwanaksan Mountain, Bongcheon-ro (from Bongcheon Intersection to the entrance of Hyundai Market), Nangok-ro (from Sindaebang Station to Humansia Apartments), and Yangnyeong-ro (from Yaksa Hoe-gwan to Guksabong Tunnel).
This year, due to early blooming, spring rain, and cold snaps, the cherry blossom viewing period was short, making it possible to fully enjoy the spring atmosphere through the video.
Gwanak-gu plans to continue sharing special views unique to the district by filming natural scenery, festivals, and events across the area with drones in the “Gwanak Seen from the Sky” video series.
Aerial filming requires a flight license and separate approval procedures, making it difficult for individuals to shoot or produce videos. Therefore, the district has planned the drone footage it directly filmed as CCL (Creative Commons License) works so residents can enjoy, keep, re-edit, or commercially use the videos.
