Gwangju Nam-gu Holds University Admission Briefing and Consulting Session
Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a college entrance exam strategy briefing session and customized group consulting for first-year high school students who are prospective examinees for the first time this year, ahead of the 2025 academic year college entrance exam fairness enhancement and education curriculum reform.
On the 14th, Nam-gu announced that it will provide an opportunity to learn about the entrance exam environment to be applied from the 2025 academic year in order to offer tailored college entrance strategies to first- and second-year high school students and their parents in the district who are struggling with the college entrance system and curriculum reform.
The distinctive feature of this upcoming entrance exam strategy briefing session and customized group consulting is that the attendees are not third-year high school students.
Nam-gu prepared this briefing session to provide accurate information and entrance exam strategies to first- and second-year high school students who are confused because the changed entrance exam system will be applied starting from the 2025 academic year entrance exam, which students currently in the second year of high school will take as third-year students.
The briefing session will be held on the 13th of next month from 2 PM to 5 PM in the large conference room on the 8th floor of Nam-gu Office, with a capacity of 100 participants.
Applications for participation will be accepted from the 1st of next month through the online 'Culture and Education Events' app or via a Naver form.
In the first part of the event, Kim Byung-jin, director of the Etoos Education Evaluation Research Institute, will take the podium for the entrance exam strategy briefing, and in the second part, 10 career counseling teachers from the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education will participate in customized group consulting sessions at each group table with prospective examinees and their parents.
First-year students will receive guidance on selecting liberal arts or sciences and subjects according to their career paths, while second-year students will be provided with information related to the comprehensive student record screening process.
