40s Male Arrested for Breaking into Jewelry Store and Stealing 150 Don of Gold
A man who broke into a jewelry store located in Singil-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and stole valuables has been arrested.
At around 10:30 a.m. on the 31st, Yoo Hwan-woo, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Southern District Court, conducted a pre-arrest detention hearing for Lee (aged in his 40s), who is accused of special theft, and issued an arrest warrant citing "risk of evidence destruction and flight."
Lee is accused of breaking into the jewelry store on the 29th while wearing a helmet and smashing the door with a hammer, stealing approximately 150 don of gold. The Yeongdeungpo Police Department stated that they apprehended Lee around 10:40 p.m. on the day of the incident in the Gyesan-dong area of Incheon through CCTV analysis.

The police also stated that they plan to apply for an arrest warrant after investigation for Hwang (in his 60s), who is suspected of conspiring with Lee and acting as a lookout during the crime.
