Gwangyang City Holds 'Dialogue with Citizens'
From April 18 to 26 in 12 Eup, Myeon, and Dong areas
Gwangyang City in Jeonnam will hold the ‘2023 Dialogue with Citizens,’ where Mayor Jeong In-hwa will sequentially visit 12 eup, myeon, and dong districts from April 18 to 26 to listen to local public opinion and collect residents’ suggestions to reflect them in city administration.
This event is the second Dialogue with Citizens held since Mayor Jeong In-hwa took office. It will be attended by various sectors including general residents, provincial and city council members, heads of social organizations, local elders, and socially disadvantaged groups. The event will proceed with a report on the achievements and operational directions of the 8th elected administration, explanations of current projects in each eup, myeon, and dong, and listening to residents’ opinions, allowing about 100 minutes of direct communication with the residents.
Immediately after the Dialogue with Citizens, the mayor will visit senior centers in each eup, myeon, and dong to check on the elderly who find it difficult to attend in person and hold separate communication sessions to listen to their difficulties and suggestions.
Mayor Jeong In-hwa of Gwangyang said, "All communication begins with carefully listening to residents’ opinions," adding, "The most important thing in the Dialogue with Citizens is to not miss the voice of each citizen heard on site and to reflect it in city administration."
