Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station, Promotion of Laws Related to Appointment of Fire Safety Managers
Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station announced on the 20th that it is promoting the recent amendments and revisions to the laws related to the appointment of fire safety managers.
The main changes include ▲restriction on concurrent positions for fire safety managers (special grade, grade 1) ▲changes in the scope of objects requiring fire safety manager appointment ▲completion of training within 3 months after appointment when acting as a fire safety manager ▲fire safety managers at construction sites, etc.
According to the Act on the Prevention of Fire and Safety Management, which came into effect on December 1, 2022, new subjects (special grade, grade 1) are restricted from holding concurrent positions from the date of appointment after the law's enforcement.
For existing subjects where the fire safety manager holds other safety management positions concurrently, concurrent holding is allowed until 6 months after the law's enforcement (May 31, 2023). If concurrent holding continues after the grace period, a fine of up to 3 million KRW will be imposed.
