"My name is DroneCop!"... Gyeongbuk Police, Drone Police Inauguration Ceremony
Advancing the Era of Gyeongbuk-Style Future Policing
My name is ‘Drone Cop’! The ‘Drone Cop’ has become a reality before the ‘RoboCop’ featured in movies.
Gyeongbuk Police has taken the first step in equipping a future-oriented security system by launching Drone Cop. On the 16th, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency (Commissioner Choi Joo-won) announced that on the 15th, they held the inauguration ceremony of the Drone Club ‘DroneCOP’ at the K-drone Center of Gyeongbuk College.
At the inauguration ceremony, about 25 members of the club attended with the goal of “leading future security based on scientific policing.” A special lecture on the use of drones in security work and a tour of the K-drone Center were also held.
DroneCOP plans to foster drone talent in preparation for future security and collaborate with local governments and related organizations to research ways to integrate drones into security tasks, such as managing crowds in densely populated situations.
