Krafton Partners with Daejeon City to Promote the eSports Industry

View original imageOn the 10th, Krafton announced that it has signed a mutual agreement with Daejeon City to promote the eSports industry and attract events.
The signing ceremony took place on the 9th at the Daejeon eSports Stadium, attended by key figures from both sides, including Minho Lee, Head of eSports at Krafton, Jangwoo Lee, Mayor of Daejeon, and Jinkyu Kim, President of the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency.
Krafton plans to hold the final stage of the ‘Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (hereafter PMPS) 2023,’ an eSports professional tournament conducted in three seasons annually, at the Daejeon eSports Stadium. The city of Daejeon will be promoted through broadcast coverage and various online and offline channels during the tournament.
Daejeon City will provide Krafton with the Daejeon eSports Stadium, on-site broadcast systems, and content production costs, as well as support activity expenses for the eSports teams participating in PMPS 2023.
Mayor Jangwoo Lee of Daejeon stated, "This will be an important opportunity for Daejeon to become a leader in South Korea’s eSports industry," adding, "Based on cooperation with Krafton, we will provide abundant cultural enjoyment opportunities to the citizens of Daejeon."
Jinkyu Kim, President of the Daejeon Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency, said, "This is already the second regular league tournament we are hosting this year," and added, "We will do our utmost to ensure the continuous activation of eSports event hosting in the future."
