Low-rise residential area near Hoamsan to become Moa Town... 673 households to be built
An aging low-rise residential area near Hoamsan Mountain in Geumcheon-gu, Seoul, has been designated as the first Moa Town of the year. This area has long suffered from poor living conditions and chronic parking shortages. It will be transformed into a Moa Housing complex with about 600 households by 2026.
On the 10th, Seoul City announced that the Moa Town management plan for the area around 817, Siheung 4-dong, Geumcheon-gu (30,430㎡) passed the integrated review at the Small-scale Housing Authorization Subcommittee held on the 9th.
With this Moa Town designation, the area around 817, Siheung 4-dong will have 673 Moa Housing units and a public parking lot with more than 150 spaces (site area 5,250㎡) by 2026. Roads that were previously narrow at 6 meters will be widened to 8 to 10 meters.
Since being selected as a Moa Town target site in June this year, the area around 817, Siheung 4-dong has prepared an effective management plan through resident briefings and public inspections.
With the approval of the Moa Town management plan, low-rise buildings will be arranged around Hoamsan Mountain to secure scenic views, while the area along Doksan-ro will feature street-type revitalization facilities and high-rise buildings, creating Moa Housing with various designs that suit the local characteristics and landscape.
Additionally, to resolve parking shortages in the nearby low-rise residential area and improve the pedestrian environment within the region, a public parking lot will be established within the Moa Town, along with open shared facilities linked to the parking lot, allowing all local residents to use them.
The Moa Town management plan includes ▲upgrading land use zones ▲improving infrastructure and securing public parking lots for adjacent low-rise residential areas ▲arranging building blocks with diverse designs reflecting regional characteristics ▲connecting green corridors and creating open green spaces ▲and open community spaces shared with local residents.
